Eskiden bir davran\u0131\u015f bozuklu\u011fu olarak g\u00f6r\u00fclen obezitenin g\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fczde bir hastal\u0131k oldu\u011fu biliniyor.&#8221; diye konu\u015ftu.<\/p>\n<p>\u00d6z\u00e7elik, 1950&#8217;li y\u0131llarda Dr. Andreas Prader&#8217;in \u0130svi\u00e7re&#8217;de a\u015f\u0131r\u0131 \u015fi\u015fman \u00e7ocuklar\u0131 bir araya toplayarak Prader-Willi sendromunu tan\u0131mlad\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 belirtti ve 1992&#8217;de Stanford \u00dcniversitesinde \u00e7al\u0131\u015ft\u0131\u011f\u0131 d\u00f6nemde ekibiyle bu sendromun genini bulduklar\u0131n\u0131 anlatt\u0131.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/admin.aa.com.tr\/uploads\/userFiles\/88e4063b-7018-4331-b06e-f0cb513ac64c\/2024%2F06%2Fobez25-2.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Bu geli\u015fmenin o y\u0131llarda bir davran\u0131\u015f bozuklu\u011fu olarak g\u00f6r\u00fclen obezite hastal\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131n asl\u0131nda genetik bir sebebi oldu\u011funu g\u00f6steren ilk \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma oldu\u011funu ifade eden \u00d6z\u00e7elik, daha sonra d\u00fcnya bilim \u00e7evrelerinde obeziteye neden olan genlerin t\u00fcm\u00fcm\u00fcn bulunmas\u0131 i\u00e7in bir yar\u0131\u015f ba\u015flad\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 s\u00f6yledi.<\/p>\n<p>\u0130lk genin bulunmas\u0131n\u0131n \u00fczerinden ge\u00e7en 32 y\u0131lda 86 obezite geni daha bulundu\u011fu bilgisini veren \u00d6z\u00e7elik, \u015f\u00f6yle devam etti:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Obezite, v\u00fccutta a\u015f\u0131r\u0131 miktarda ya\u011f dokusu bulunmas\u0131yla tan\u0131mlan\u0131r. Gen \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131nda insan\u0131n beyninin ve ya\u011f dokusunun obeziteyi idare eden iki temel nokta oldu\u011funu ke\u015ffettik. Ya\u011f dokusu da beyaz ya\u011f dokusu ve kahverengi ya\u011f dokusu olmak \u00fczere ikiye ayr\u0131l\u0131yor. Bug\u00fcne kadarki b\u00fct\u00fcn gen bulu\u015flar\u0131, beyin ve beyaz ya\u011f dokusu \u00fczerinden oldu. Burada beynin vurgulanmas\u0131n\u0131n nedeni a\u00e7l\u0131k ve doygunluk hislerinin beyinde bulunan bir grup n\u00f6ron taraf\u0131ndan idare edilmesidir. Beyaz ya\u011f dokusu ise beyni do\u011frudan hedefleyen hormonlar\u0131 \u00fcretmektedir. Beyaz ya\u011f dokusu, ayn\u0131 zamanda enerji depolama merkezidir ve obezite sonucu geli\u015fen hastal\u0131klar\u0131n ana kayna\u011f\u0131d\u0131r. Halbuki \u015fimdiye kadar \u00fczerinde yeterince durulmayan kahverengi ya\u011f dokusu ise enerjiyi yakt\u0131\u011f\u0131 ve metabolizmay\u0131 h\u0131zland\u0131rd\u0131\u011f\u0131 i\u00e7in \u00e7ok \u00f6nemli bir tedavi arac\u0131 olabilir.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/admin.aa.com.tr\/uploads\/userFiles\/88e4063b-7018-4331-b06e-f0cb513ac64c\/2024%2F06%2Fobez25-3.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>En b\u00fcy\u00fck projelere verilen deste\u011fin 3-6 kat \u00fczerinde<\/h3>\n<p>\u00d6z\u00e7elik, v\u00fccuttaki kahverengi ya\u011f dokusunun obezite ile ili\u015fkisini ara\u015ft\u0131rmay\u0131 ama\u00e7layan projenin Leducq Vakf\u0131 taraf\u0131ndan desteklendi\u011fini belirtti.<\/p>\n<p>Bu vakf\u0131n, halen d\u00fcnyada metabolizma ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar\u0131na en b\u00fcy\u00fck fonlar\u0131 aktaran kurum oldu\u011funu ve Avrupa, ABD ve Kanada&#8217;n\u0131n \u00f6nde gelen transatlantik ara\u015ft\u0131rma kurulu\u015flar\u0131n\u0131n \u00e7\u0131\u011f\u0131r a\u00e7\u0131c\u0131 nitelikteki projelerini destekledi\u011fini dile getiren \u00d6z\u00e7elik, \u015funlar\u0131 kaydetti:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Nitekim Bilkent&#8217;in \u00f6nc\u00fcl\u00fck etti\u011fi konsorsiyum, 2022 y\u0131l\u0131nda kurulmu\u015ftu ve 2 y\u0131ll\u0131k g\u00f6zlem sonucunda, bu y\u0131l\u0131n May\u0131s ay\u0131nda Cambridge \u00dcniversitesinde d\u00fczenlenen toplant\u0131da, uluslararas\u0131 bilim kurulu taraf\u0131ndan m\u00fckemmeliyet proje deste\u011fini ald\u0131. B\u00f6ylece en b\u00fcy\u00fck ERC, Avrupa Birli\u011fi ve NIH projelerinin yakla\u015f\u0131k 3-6 kat \u00fczerinde bir destek kazand\u0131k. Bu kapsamda, vak\u0131f iki y\u0131l inceleme yapt\u0131ktan sonra 7 milyon dolarl\u0131k bir b\u00fct\u00e7eyle projemizi 2028 y\u0131l\u0131na kadar desteklemeye de\u011fer buldu.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u00d6z\u00e7elik, m\u00fckemmeliyet projelerinin konsorsiyumunda, T\u00fcrkiye&#8217;den Bilkent, \u0130ngiltere&#8217;den Cambridge, ABD&#8217;den Harvard, Rockefeller \u00fcniversiteleri ile Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, UT Southwestern Medical School, Kanada&#8217;dan McGill \u00dcniversitesi ile \u0130spanya&#8217;dan Josep Carreras Leukemia Ara\u015ft\u0131rma Enstit\u00fcs\u00fcn\u00fcn yer ald\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 belirterek, konsorsiyumun kahverengi ya\u011f dokusu ile obezite aras\u0131ndaki ili\u015fkiyi ve olas\u0131 tedavi hedeflerini molek\u00fcler d\u00fczeyde tan\u0131mlamaya en yak\u0131n bilim insanlar\u0131ndan olu\u015ftu\u011funun d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcld\u00fc\u011f\u00fcn\u00fc vurgulad\u0131.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/admin.aa.com.tr\/uploads\/userFiles\/88e4063b-7018-4331-b06e-f0cb513ac64c\/2024%2F06%2Fobez25-4.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>&#8220;Kahverengi ya\u011f dokusunda \u00e7ok \u00f6nemli genler bulundu\u011funu g\u00f6rd\u00fck&#8221;<\/h3>\n<p>\u00d6z\u00e7elik, projenin \u00f6n \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n\u0131n s\u00fcrd\u00fc\u011f\u00fc 2 y\u0131l boyunca T\u00fcrkiye Genom Projesi kapsam\u0131nda \u00fcrettikleri verilere ili\u015fkin de bilgi verdi.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n\u0131n kahverengi ya\u011f dokusu \u00fczerine odakland\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131, ayn\u0131 \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmay\u0131, ekipte yer alan di\u011fer \u00fclkelerin de kendi uzmanl\u0131k alanlar\u0131 \u0131\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131nda \u0130ngiliz ve ABD toplumu \u00fczerinde ba\u015flatt\u0131klar\u0131n\u0131 ifade eden \u00d6z\u00e7elik, &#8220;Kahverengi ya\u011f dokusunda \u00e7ok \u00f6nemli genler bulundu\u011funu g\u00f6rd\u00fck. Bu tedavi hedefini tan\u0131mlamak i\u00e7in ise genler arac\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131yla bu dokuya giri\u015f yap\u0131yoruz. Ailelerde mutasyon ta\u015f\u0131yan bireylerin tespit edilmesinin ard\u0131ndan o genlerin hayvan modellerinin olu\u015fturulmas\u0131n\u0131 sa\u011flayaca\u011f\u0131z. Hayvan modellerinden kast\u0131m farede, zebra bal\u0131\u011f\u0131nda ve bunun d\u0131\u015f\u0131nda h\u00fccre k\u00fclt\u00fcrlerinde y\u00fcr\u00fctmekte oldu\u011fumuz incelemelerdir. Bulu\u015flar\u0131m\u0131z hayata ge\u00e7ti\u011finde, insanlar \u00f6nce aya\u011f\u0131n\u0131 yorgan\u0131na g\u00f6re uzatman\u0131n \u00f6nemini g\u00f6recek. Yani do\u011fu\u015ftan &#8216;obezite geni ta\u015f\u0131n\u0131yorsa&#8217; bu bilinecek ve ona g\u00f6re \u00f6nlemler alabilecek. Ama buna ra\u011fmen i\u015ftah merkezi bozuk olan &#8216;elimde de\u011fil ki ne yapay\u0131m&#8217; diyenler oluyor. Bunlar\u0131n da i\u015fte beyin merkezlerini idare etmeyi hedefliyoruz. Bunun i\u00e7in ila\u00e7lar geli\u015fmeye ba\u015fland\u0131. Bunun ilk \u00f6rne\u011fi leptindir. Ondan sonra melanokortin 4 resept\u00f6r sistemini olu\u015fturan genler bulunuyor. Bu genleri hedefleyen ila\u00e7lar var. Bu ila\u00e7lar\u0131 alan insanlar zay\u0131fl\u0131yor. \u015eimdi burada topluma vermemiz gereken \u00e7ok \u00f6nemli bir ba\u015fka mesaj ise \u015fu, obezite var, obezite var.
